In 1982, Mr. L K Pagarani took ownership of a stand-alone grocery store in Ajman, marking the beginning of what is now the Al Maya Empire. Initial success came by choosing 'food' as its main trading commodity, and Al Maya continues to specialise in the retail food trade.
