Since the Al Yaquob Group has already made significant inroads in the hospitality sector, and demonstrated its ability to thrive in the realty business with its REMAMCO real estate and construction companies, it was only natural that it would go on to its next significant project: Al Yaquob Tower which will act as its showcase. This forms the rationale for the construction of the first tower on Sheikh Zayed Road. This is the most prestigious project in Al Yaquob Group’s history. Scheduled to open in 2008, it is intended to be one of the most compelling structures in the future landscape of Dubai. The 330-metre, 59-storey edifice will mark the group’s first foray into the high-stakes skyscraper segment. The tower’s distinguishing feature is a clock that will crown the tower and it is set to be one of the tallest buildings in the UAE.This will make it the highest clock in the Middle East and the world. Al Yaquob Tower will be home to furnished apartments, offices, restaurants, retail establishments, and leisure facilities. Amenities include two swimming pools, four health clubs (separate areas for men and women), saunas, steam rooms and a gymnasium hall. There will be a twelve-storey parking lot behind the tower, with a holding capacity of up to 360 cars. The residential areas will consist of 56 studios, 85 one-bedroom units, 74 two-bedroom units, 64 three-bedroom units and 4 three-bedroom duplexes. An international hospitality chain will run the hotel apartments.
