Maliha Wehbe, established the Arabic Language Centre (ALC ) in 1980 to teach Arabic to adults, but realized that it was not only adults who needed to learn, but also children. As such, dar el-ilm was created in 1988, and since many requests were made for foreign languages, the programme was expanded to include foreign language learning for both children and adults.We continually review and update our courses in order to meet the needs of our students. The effectiveness of our programmes can be judged by the excellent examination results our students achieve with the external examining boards. We boast a 100% pass rate with mostly Distinctions, As and the occasional B. Mission Statement The mission of DEI is to teach Arabic to children using the unique Maliha Wehbe method, and foreign languages to both children and adults, so that students learn in a logical and simplified manner, whilst enjoying the experience.
