The name 'Doka' originated with the first deliveries of formwork sheets to sites where hydroelectric power stations were being built on the River Danube in Austria in the 1950s, for a utility called DOKW (standing for "Danube Power Stations" in German). The formwork sheets for this client became known as DOKA sheets – and the name stuck!
