DRAMA SCENE was established in 2008 out of a passion to provide children and teens with a creative platform to explore the wonderful world of drama. Based out of Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre (DUCTAC) in Mall of the Emirates, DRAMA SCENE provides it's students aged 3 to 18 years with the full dramatic skill set "Drama teaches children about perspectives, it shows them how to have empathy, and helps them build the vital skills of confidence, communication, concentration and cooperation " Says Ferne Reynolds Lategan". Classes are age specific and are taught by passionate drama professionals, who still continue to perform internationally themselves. DRAMA SCENE is further affiliated to LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) and each years DRAMA SCENE brings out LAMDA adjudicators from the UK to adjudicate and certificate students 5 years plus across different performance categories including Acting, Musical Theatre, Verse & Prose and Devised Performance. We encourage our students 5 years plus to enter into the annual LAMDA examinations in order to measure their progress against an international standard and build up certification for their efforts. LAMDA is now the largest examination board of Speech and Drama and has gained a reputation of excellence as a Drama School in London. It boasts the likes of film director Sam Mendez as part of it's advisory council. LAMDA examinations are further accredited by QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) providing nationally recognized qualifications. DRAMA SCENE was founded by Ferne Reynolds Lategan who is a Drama Professional and holds a Honors Degree in BA Dramatic Art from WITS University with majors in Acting and Choreography. Ferne is no stranger to performing on stage or acting in front of a camera and has been performing since she was a child. Her love of drama has inspired her to create a platform where she can share her knowledge and passion with others.
