The Jumeirah Mosque is a notable architectural treasure and tourist attraction in Dubai. Jumeirah Grand Mosque, which opened in 1979, was a gift from the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Dubai's former ruler and father of the current ruler, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The building, which has architectural elements derived from Egypt and Syria, can hold about 1500 worshipers.

One of the main initiatives of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding's (SMCCU) Open Doors. Open Minds programs has been the Jumeirah Mosque Visit. The goal of the SMCCU is to develop engaging activities that foster tolerance, understanding, and cultural awareness among people of all nationalities and cultures.

The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding hosts visits of the Grand Jumeirah Mosque every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10.00h. You do not need a reservation to attend this visit, but you must arrive at the main entrance to the Jumeirah Mosque by approximately 9.45am. Each tour lasts approximately 75 minutes.

Modest dress is preferred, however traditional attire can be borrowed from the Mosque.
