S P Jain's history dates back to 1981 when its sister campus, S P Jain Institute of Management Research (SPJIMR) was established in Mumbai, India. This had the unique distinction of being inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Hon. Margaret Thatcher. Since its inception, the school has been ranked amongst the top 10 business schools in India for its MBA programs.

In 2004, S P Jain decided to focus on global learning, and with this objective, the first international campus was set up in Dubai. In 2005, S P Jain was invited by the Singapore Government to establish a campus in Singapore. It continued its legacy in management education and set up its Singapore campus in 2006. In 2012 September, S P Jain will inaugurate its Australian campus at the Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney, Australia.

S P Jain has been ranked No.1 in UAE in a Brand Perception Audit conducted by A C Nielsen in 2008 and in the Top 100 by the Financial Times, UK in 2011 and 2012.

S P Jain is also accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), UK - the Gold Standard in MBA Accreditation, The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai, U.A.E, the Council for Private Education, Singapore and is internationally accredited by the Department of Education and Training, New South Wales, Australia.
