Stefano Sconci, a visionary art enthusiast, dreamed of creating a place in the centre of Rome where art might grow, stimulating creativity in everyone who came and enthralling art lovers. Sconci was inspired by his convictions to create a collection that honoured the variety and elegance of artistic expression. Each meticulously chosen object, which ranged from breathtaking paintings to captivating sculptures by Italian and European masters from the XVI to XX centuries, appealed to the depths of human emotion and captured the imagination. Sconci Gallery was established in 1977. Its art experiences became widely known year after year, attracting both art enthusiasts and connoisseurs to its doors as a cultural destination. The gallery's standing as a venue for cultivating deep relationships between artists and art lovers grew.The idea to expand the gallery and move it into a more global and forward-thinking setting came from Stefano's son Lorenzo, who was always at his side, learning, supporting, and assisting him.Lorenzo Sconci, then 23 years old, visited Oman for a work experience while attending business university in 2012. On his way back to Italy, he stopped in Dubai and was astounded by the metropolis. He had an epiphany and decided that Dubai would be the ideal location for Sconci Gallery to expand. He saw that Dubai was emerging as one of the world's most important financial, cultural, and commercial hubs.The great masters of modern and contemporary art as well as gifted up-and-coming artists were the primary focus of the exhibitions. It quickly established itself as a resource for art collectors, and its membership grew daily. However, Sconci's idea went beyond this, and in 2018 he launched the second location in the Gate Village of Dubai International Financial Centre, the bustling, opulent centre of the city, also known as the "Wall Street of Dubai." Here, the walls are covered in colourful pop art by both up-and-coming and well-known artists, as well as classics by notable figures from the Modern and Contemporary periods.
