Shorin-Ryu Seibukan karate was established in the UAE in 1979 with the opening of the Aziz Ahmed Technical Sports Centre in Deira. It was Sensei Iqbal, a karate enthusiast and perseverant by nature who laid the foundation of this great style here. Since then he and his dedicated trainees have left no stone unturned to propagate the style which was hitherto unknown in the area. Very soon his brothers Sensei Najeem and Jaleel joined the efforts. The sincerity and relentless work of these young men started to show the results, the style flourishing and branching out to other emirates.Iqbal is now the Chief Instructor and Technical Director of Seibukan karate for the UAE and the Middle East, Najeem the Chief Examiner and Jaleel the Assistant Chief Instructor. This style is now taught in the United Karate Sports Centre in Sharjah, Karama (Dubai) and Al Ain, and the Aziz Ahmed Technical Sports Centre Deira, Dubai.
